Since lead-singer man Mike Love penned the lyrics to The Beach Boys’ first hit, “Surfin’” (1961), dozens of the bands chart toppers have become eternal anthems of American youth:  “Surfin’ USA,” “Surfer Girl,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around,” “California Girls,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Barbara Ann,” “Good Vibrations,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Rock and Roll Music” and “Kokomo.”

The Beach Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide and have received more than 33 RIAA Platinum and Gold record awards.  The Rock And Roll Hall of Famers where also honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Continue reading

Cool River Revamps Menu Just In Time For Byron Nelson Week

Las Colinas’ most iconic restaurant, Cool River, recently launched a new menu created by new executive chef Fernando Rodriguez.  Chef Fernando created a menu which both pays homage to the restaurant’s past and yet brings a new regional palate to key menu items.

Chef Rodriguez joined the Cool River family in 1998, and has worked virtually every position in the Cool River kitchen. After almost two decades, he takes the reigns as Executive Chef for Cool River.  Continue reading

Eno’s Side Dough Launched in Bishop Arts

Eno’s Pizza Tavern will officially launch Eno’s Side Dough this month, expanding its takeout and delivery business. A play on words, Eno’s Side Dough will be located next to the restaurant in a neighboring space at 405 N. Bishop Ave.

Eno’s Side Dough will offer the restaurant’s full menu – including its signature cracker thin crust pizzas – for carryout or delivery, as well as grab-and-go sandwiches and salads for people on the run. To complete the meal, packaged craft beer and wine will be available for purchase. Eno’s Side Dough will also exclusively offer a specialty dessert pie in collaboration with neighbor Emporium Pies. Dallas! Celebrate The Beignet With Us

What is made up of butter, flour, water and eggs, piped into several shapes for a variety of uses, and made most famous by our friends at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans? It is, of course, this special dough which brings us delicious pastries, both sweet and savory, such as eclairs, cream puffs,  profiteroles, croquembouches,  French crullers,  and Indonesian kue sus, dumplings. In the case of Cafe du Monde, choux is also responsible for the beignet, that wonderful little bit of fried dough that we typically dump a crazy amount of confectioner’s sugar onto and devour without remorse alongside a steaming cup of coffee.
