A true bowl of Texas red is near and dear to me, and I am always willing to order a bowl if found on any menu I stumble across. I am pleased to report that there are more chili offerings this year than last, and many have upped the ante in developing a perfect bowl. Some Good News From Goodfriend

It has been nearly two years since Josh Yingling and Matt Tobin (Goodfriend, Blind Butcher) announced that they would open a package store across the street from Goodfriend. The new store would carry cool beers, and offer prepared food. The nameless shop would be located in the laundromat.

The few months it would take to open obviously took much longer due to the City of Dallas, and a large reel of red tape.    Continue reading

The Blind Butcher Coming To Lower Greenville

Matt Tobin and Josh Yingling, the team behind popular East Dallas bar Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House, have joined forces with Chef Oliver Sitrin, formerly of Village Marquee Grill & Bar, to open a new concept on Lower Greenville. Expected to open late spring, The Blind Butcher will focus on house-made meats and, of course, a stellar lineup of craft beers.

“With the addition of Trader Joe’s, the food truck park, and several restaurants, there is a renaissance taking place on Lower Greenville. We’re excited to be a part of the area’s revitalization,” says co-owner Matt Tobin. Continue reading

Updated Menu At Goodfriend

Many of you have experienced the amazing patio offerings at Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House. They have been open just over a year in their East Dallas digs, and have been crazy busy selling their amazing selection of brews and those killer burgers made by the crew next door at Good 2 Go Taco. There is a little pass through that enables Goodfriend to take all the credit for those burgers, but they are really being cranked out by chefs Jeana Johnson and Colleen O’Hare.

We just received word that there are a few new menu items at Goodfriend, and we will be heading over there this evening to graze through the offerings.      Continue reading
