Coming to Addison Oktoberfest September 15-18?  Then you’ll be pleased to find favorites that you’ve come to expect.  You’ll find beautiful bratwurst, spectacular smoked pork and lots of sauerkraut.  You’ll find the same Paulaner bier that is being served at the Munich Oktoberfest.  And, of course, you’ll find delicious strudel in various traditional flavors.

Named one of the country’s most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations by Forbes and USA Today, Addison Oktoberfest features four days of family-oriented entertainment. German entertainers in authentic costumes perform traditional Bavarian folk dances, schuhplattling, oompah music, sing-a-longs, yodels and more. A special “Oktoberfest” Paulaner Bier is served along with several types of German sausage, sauerkraut, strudel, giant pretzels and more.

For guests who visit Munich’s famed Oktoberfest, the ticket to have is in the VIP balconies of the 14 bier tents at the festival. At Addison Oktoberfest, the massive 30,000 square foot Schloss Addison tent has a similar opportunity. The 2015 Ultimate Guide to Oktoberfest in Addison

For nearly three decades, the most authentic Oktoberfest celebration outside of Munich has been held in Addison, Texas.  This year, over 70,000 fans will come together September 17-20, 2015 to share a love of polka, German food and, of course, the same Paulaner Bier that will be served at Bavaria’s favorite festival. As a part of its award-winning tradition, Addison has timed their festival to coincide with the famed Munich Oktoberfest, and Addison Oktoberfest will also feature much of the same music, folk dancing, sing-a-longs plus great German food and entertainment.

Often questioned about hosting a festival called Oktoberfest during the month of September, as a part of their efforts to make Addison Oktoberfest the most authentic Oktoberfest celebration in North America, the festival is always timed to open the same weekend as the Munich celebration.   Continue reading →

Isaac Rousso To Open Fast Casual Cuban Restaurant In Dallas

I didn’t want to bury the story that Isaac Rousso gave us on yesterday’s craveRADIO show. While discussing his many ventures, including the State Fair, his food truck, and now the Draught House during Addison’s Oktoberfest, he leaked out the fact that he will actually be opening a fast casual Cuban restaurant and is currently looking for a space somewhere in Dallas.

Soon you will have those amazing Cuban sandwiches every day.

Listen To The Re-Broadcast Of craveRADIO With Guests Gene And Julie, Isaac Rousso, And John Slaughter

If you missed the craveRADIO broadcast this past Sunday you missed a lot. In studio this week we enjoyed all the interesting stories Gene and Julie Gates shared about opening their restaurant Battuto Italian Kitchen in North Dallas.  Gene also shared his history of working, managing and owning restaurants in his past, before Battuto and before their radio history.

The pair of restaurant owners also discussed their opening chef Gustavo, and all the work that went into the opening menu. They have since hired super chef Joel Harloff who has a beautiful history working with Italian and other cuisines. Harloff is working on a new lunch menu and sends out daily specials that we hear are terrific.    Continue reading →
