There are actually few places that make a hearty bowl of seafood cioppino in Dallas. Cioppino is a fisherman’s soup that that is an amalgam of various Italian seafood stews and soups, but originates from San Francisco using the freshest catch of the day brought in by local sources from the sea. Pair this action up with toasted slices of sourdough and you have this marvelous meal that will certainly satisfy and take the chill off from any evening.

For the past three years, Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill has offered monthly cooking classes. However, in the past year, the classes have begun to sell out before they could be announced to the public. Therefore, beginning last month, Sea Breeze began offering TWO cooking classes each month. Classes will traditionally the second fourth Sunday of each month from 3-4:30 p.m. March classes will be on April 12 and April 26. Guests in the classes will learn 3-4 seafood recipes, taste those recipes and enjoy wine pairings as well, all for $50 per person. Class size is very limited, and reservations are required. The seafood revolution in Dallas continues strong and we are particularly happy to see this strong trend continue to grow. With more restaurants sourcing amazing oysters from all coastal waters in the US, the selection has never been greater. Many restaurants can serve up fish selections like tilapia and salmon, but these can be the most uninteresting selections when so much more is being brought into our city.
One of the bright stars in this trend is Sea Breeze in Plano. What started as a small market and an even smaller restaurant with counter service, Sea Breeze recently expanded to a full-sized concern with table service and even more room for fresh fish to take home. Continue reading
