Chefs For Farmers Mix Off on Aug 16

In celebration of the official launch of ticket sales for the 2015 Chefs For Farmers, event organizers will host the Mix Off on August 16 from 5:00-8:00PM  at DEC 1414 Dragon Street. The Mix Off will feature a bartender and a sous chef competition with the winner of each earning a spot at the Chefs For Farmers Culinary Village at Lee Park on October 25.

The bartender competition pits eight of Dallas’s craftiest bartenders against each other to create the best summer punch with spirits from the Beam Suntory portfolio. All eight bartenders will stir, shake and pour their hearts out for attendees’ votes and for bragging rights of creating the official signature cocktail of Chefs for Farmers 2015.  Continue reading

10 Sous Chefs Want To Wow You

CBD Provisions and Sous Chef Justin Holt of Lucia are proud to co-host the 2nd Annual Texas Sous Chef Dinner at CBD Provisions on July 27 at 7 p.m., with tickets going on sale today. If you attended the last event, you know what amazing talent that Dallas has to offer. This round Justin Holt invited similar talent from across the state of Texas.

Ten local Texas sous chefs will be participating, each preparing one dish for a 10-course plated dinner along with an optional beverage pairing. It all went down last night to a capacity crowd at Driftwood where seven of the city’s most talented sous chefs assembled for a single brilliant evening. After seven platefuls of measured art and mastery, patrons of the young chefs smiled and applauded graciously. The top Sous Chefs of Dallas will gather at Driftwood as part of the Seven Sous Dinner on February 24 at 7pm featuring seven sous chefs from some of the top Dallas area restaurant. The dinner will include seven-courses, each prepared by a sous chef.
