Terminal D of DFW has become a place that is actually pleasant to wait for a flight. It is helped by the presence of food that is worth your time, since you have to wait over an hour for your flight anyway, right? I was recently graced with a bit of “extra time” and thought I might try III Forks. Astounded they would be there in my favored Terminal D, I couldn’t imagine that it could hold up to the original. Reagle Beagle Tells You To Get Stuft
I remember the Regal Beagle when it was a fictitious Santa Monica pub on the horrific television series Three’s Company. Perky Chrissie played by Suzanne Somers pretended to sip beer while her roommates romped around a pool table. Alas, Dallas has its own version of the pub on Greenville Avenue just a bit right of Lovers Lane. Here you will find a typical dive bar with low lights, a handful of televisions and a serviceable day crowd of mixed ages that seem to all know each other and most likely gather often to celebrate the day. And no Chrissie.
Fairly recently Nick Vakidis and Ben Johnson took charge of the restaurant operations inside the Regal Beagle offering spicy wings, house-made jalapeno poppers and a pretty damned good burger they call Stuft. Continue reading

In-N-Out Coming To Grapevine
Look for a new In-N-Out Burger in Grapevine at the northeast corner of William D. Tate Avenue and Highway 114 where the California-based burger chain purchased a 38,201-square-foot pad site. Neighboring retailers include P.F. Chang’s Bistro, Outback Steakhouse, Classic

Quest for the Ultimate Burger: Beck’s Prime
This week’s burger quest took our group to the recently opened Beck’s Prime. The location at the northwest corner of Preston and Forest is the 13th location of Beck’s Prime to open and the first in the Dallas area. The restaurant is a fast casual restaurant with a menu featuring mesquite grilled burgers, sandwiches, grilled meat plates, salads and steaks.
The Dallas location has taken over a former Jack in the Box and they did a good job of adding a patio as well making the inside warm and inviting with the open dining room and hardwood flooring. Continue reading
Elevation Burger Is A Healthier Burger Option
by Steven Doyle photos by Joey Stewart
Elevation Burger opened quietly in January of 2012 and is part of a chain of restaurants that started in Virginia by a man who wanted a burger similar to what he had while living in California. This meant organic, grass-fed and free range. Cow is just tastier when they are allowed to run around munching grass free of hormones and all the nasties that are so prevalent in our food today.
Elevation Burger dots the East Coast but moved into Austin in 2009. There are plans for two more Dallas locations that will be coming soon, but until then you can get a healthier burger option at the Hillcrest location. Continue reading
