Carrollton Herrera’s Closes But Look For Their Food Truck Very Soon

It has been an odd day of messages about a variety of restaurants closing and chefs on the move. We just caught wind of a few more. Herrera’s in Carrollton on Beltline is no more. This is a family operation where different members run the various locations, and this closing does not affect others stores in the Dallas area. Certainly one of Dallas’ favorite Tex Mex spots, this particular owner is regrouping. Look for a Herrera’s food truck to hit the streets soon. This can only be good information. Continue reading →

Several Restaurant America Restaurants Closed In Dallas *Update

Restaurant America seems to be pulling up roots in Dallas. The Chicago based restaurant group came to Dallas in a storm opening up restaurants across the city with promise of even more. The first casualty was the Mockingbird Taproom, which we found a bit sterile. That restaurant closed just months of opening and was located in Mockingbird Station.

Local food blog Side Dish reported last Friday that the Townhouse Kitchen + Bar in the Galleria was locked out for an apparent non-payment of rent. Then a flood of reports came to us about the very new Boca Chica closing. We actually had a report that was to run on Boca this week. Continue reading →

Zen Bistro in Deep Ellum Closed

Zen Bistro in Deep Ellum has shuttered, but will continue to make cake balls for Central Market throughout North Texas. The owners are currently seeking a new location “somewhere in the North Dallas area”.

Zen was known for their quirky location in Deep Ellum in the old digs of Club Clearview’s Blind Lemon. The original DJ booth made of solid concrete was too expensive to remove so it made for a good space to office out of and host karaoke on certain evenings. Continue reading →

Private Social Shuttering
