Due to the recent winter storm, it has been a challenge to get food out to families in need across our 13-county service area. To support our partner agencies and families in need, TAFB will host a special, emergency direct to client mobile distribution on Sunday, February 6, from 2:00-4:00 pm at the TAFB Distribution Center in Fort Worth. Precautionary measures are being taken with the City of Fort Worth to help facilitate a safe drive-thru event.

Throughout time baseball has been known for wacky schemes to promote attendance. You may recall the Bill Veeck story where he hired Eddie Gaedel to pinch hit during a game in 1951. Gaedel was 3’7 and had virtually no strike zone. The short player was subsequently disqualified but his legend lives on. Bill Veeck has a suite named for him at the Ranger’s stadium today. Fred’s Texas Cafe announced today the top three contenders in their Renegade Food Challenge coming to BOTH restaurant locations this spring. The wild contest concept, from Fred’s CEO and Co-Owner Quincy Wallace and the restaurant’s newly appointed Head Chef Fabian Alvarado, launched in December and put the power in the hands of eaters and Fred’s supporters across Funky Town.

Located right off the Dallas Parkway, Lawry’s is serving its signature dinner experience complete with their spinning bowl salad plus California cut of prime rib (or seasonal fish) with mashed potatoes and either creamed spinach or corn plus Yorkshire pudding, plus dessert for $65 per person. This makes for a delicious dinner and night out.
