Tarrant Area Food Bank to Host Emergency Food Distribution at Their Warehouse Facility Sunday, February 6 from 2-4p; Calls for Volunteers 

Due to the recent winter storm, it has been a challenge to get food out to families in need across our 13-county service area. To support our partner agencies and families in need, TAFB will host a special, emergency direct to client mobile distribution on Sunday, February 6, from 2:00-4:00 pm at the TAFB Distribution Center in Fort Worth. Precautionary measures are being taken with the City of Fort Worth to help facilitate a safe drive-thru event.

Baseball’s Riotous 10-Cent Beer Promotion

Throughout time baseball has been known for wacky schemes to promote attendance. You may recall the Bill Veeck story where he hired Eddie Gaedel to pinch hit during a game in 1951. Gaedel was 3’7 and had virtually no strike zone. The short player was subsequently disqualified but his legend lives on. Bill Veeck has a suite named for him at the Ranger’s stadium today.
