Shoppers this summer will be surprised to see a new and strange-looking item in their produce isles. Rambutan is taking the US and Canada by storm and quickly being considered one of this year’s trendiest fruits. The sea urchin-lookalike is sweet and juicy; it’s very similar in texture and flavor to grape. HLB rambutans are available in close to 3,000 stores nationwide, which is a 50 percent increase from last year.   Continue reading

Corrientes 348 Opens June 20th

Corrientes 348, an Argentinian steakhouse launching its first location in the United States, will open for lunch and dinner on Tuesday, June 20 in Downtown Dallas. Hit the Wall will be directed by Joanie Schultz, and marks her WTT directorial inauguration. Hit the Wall will run July 28th – August 20th, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. Deep Ellum’s Cafe Salsera Hires New Chef, Has New Menu

As the seasons change to the hottest time of the year, one Deep Ellum restaurant turns up the heat by bringing in a new chef, food concept, and menu. Café Salsera in Deep Ellum recently named emerging culinary talent Armando Aguilar as Executive Chef to lead the New American cuisine concept and menu.

A Dallas native, Chef Armando brings a diverse and distinguished flavor palate to Café Salsera. A culinary graduate of Universidad del Valle de Puebla in Mexico, Chef Aguilar has worked his way up the ‘food chain’ perfecting his craft at some of the hottest restaurants in Dallas including C.B.D. My First FroYo Experience

I will share a secret with you. Until recently I had never tasted frozen yogurt. Out of all the things I have dined on, noshed, devoured even, fro-yo was not one of them. Not that I have a disdain for frozen confections, that couldn’t be further from the truth. I just never had an occasion to walk into a frozen yogurt shop and make my way through the process.
