We have discussed this marvelous pub located in Plano for some years now, Holy Grail Pub. They serve many favorites, besides a great selection of beer and whiskey, including the absolute best monte cristo and bowl of red.
Chef Shimond Bradley, who re-joined the Holy Grail Pub in May 2018 after a seven year absence has elevated the menu with creative New American cuisine while improving the celebrated dishes that have earned the pub multiple accolades for best bar food in Dallas and Plano. After stints at Casa Rubia in Dallas and Flora and Secco in Richmond, VA, Bradley has returned to the Holy Grail Pub with extensive knowledge of gastronomic science and culinary presentation to create a menu of approachable, quality food. The Biscuit Bar celebrated its grand opening in Plano yesterday. It is the newest restaurant to join The Boardwalk in Granite Park.
Before entering The Biscuit Bar, customers can see an arrangement of silver, black and yellow tables and chairs, corresponding to the aesthetic of the inside of the restaurant. From the outside, customers can look through a window, in which they will see workers rolling and kneading dough, and baking hot, fresh biscuits.

Fogo de Chão opened its latest location in Plano’s high-profile Legacy West development. The Legacy West restaurant celebrates the brand’s 40-year history by showcasing new ways to dine in an elevated setting. Upon entering, guests will have a panoramic view of the dining room, an expansive Bar Fogo area including a covered outdoor patio, and a 16-foot bas-relief interpretation of Antônio Caringi’s famous statue, O Laçador, an embodiment of the gaucho culture of Southern Brazil. We took a look at Farmbyrd when they opened and have been in for a visit a few times since then. Just over a year later chef Ryan Carbery, a classically trained chef, is doing what a few others have chosen as a path. He is bringing chef driven fare to the general public at bargain prices, few frills and doing it very well.
As with any chef, there is that moment when you possibly get a tad bored with creating the same thing each day, albeit truly fantastic. In the case of Carbery at FarmByrd he stretched his chef wings, no pun intended, by offering uniquely kicked up dishes at a fast casual prices. Consider this a win-win for all concerned. It keeps chef happy and interested, although he is a major partner in the business, and it keeps the chicken eating public extremely happy only to walk into his Plano digs to find crazy good food being offered besides the usual fried and rotisserie birds.
