We just received a message from the people that own Rachael’s Plaza Bakery on Custer in Richardson. The bakery closed recently due to the death of one of the owners but they still have a two year lease on the building. This is your chance to own a bakery. Continue reading

Q&A With the Dough Boys
The Dallas outpost for the interesting and much lauded restaurant Dough has been quietly generating plenty of buzz around the Preston Hollow area of Dallas since opening August 16, 2011. Since then the restaurateurs have been knee deep in dough and mozzarella.
The pizza Brad Liles and Keith Hall are putting out is nothing short of spectacular. It is exactly like the award winning pizza from San Antonio. We reviewed that pizza just before the duo opened their shop in Dallas. But what truly stands out is their burrata. We are so smitten with Dough’s burrata bar that we stopped by for lunch yesterday and chatted with the Dallas owners to discuss cheese and much more. Continue reading

Hypnotic Donuts Does Biscuits Too
Donuts might not be the most politically correct food that you might choose, but when did that ever stop us. Seriously, donuts filled with imagination as well as plenty of bacon, Cap’n Crunch or jalapenos cannot be wrong and Hypnotic Donuts hit’s the spot.
When you meet donut mogul and owner James St. Peter you can’t help but sport a smile. This man is seriously the Willy Wonka of fried dough and seems to meet each day with verve which is spoon-fed by his artistry. This leaves his customers in total fascination. St. Peter’s product is total comfort food at its finest. Continue reading

Monthly Food Truck Rally On Henderson
The past year Dallas and Fort Worth have been on the fast track to make up for their sins of omission with regards to food trucks. It is the single most hottest buzz word in the game just behind craft beer and cocktails. Toss Scotch Eggs into that mix as well. Those are popping up everywhere.
The latest trick in the charity book is to offer the food truck rally, which is absolutely genius if you think about that. Very little in the way of costs are involved. Throw out a band, a few rental cops and press releases and you have yourself an event. Continue reading

Snapshot’s From Savor Dallas 2012
by Steven Doyle
We are bringing you some images from another successful year at Savor Dallas. This year Jim White and Vicki Briley-White were in rare form offering events across the city tht benefited a variety of groups including Les Dames d’Escoffier and other worthwhile charitable groups.
Regardless of which event you chose to participate in Savor Dallas 2012 proved to be a unquestionable success. The weather cooperated, bringing loads of sunshine and gentle breezes to Friday’s Art District Stroll where guests noshed on tasty nibbles from area restaurants, sipped a whole host of wines, beers and spirits as the great crowd meandered through the District’s venues. Meet The Truck: TX Delizioso
There have been a slew of new food trucks popping up across both Dallas and Fort Worth giving anyone who follows the truck dining scene more options. When the food truck phenomenon first began it looked like the stereotype to beat was the taco. There are plenty of plays on just about anything wrapped in a tortilla at any truck gathering, so many are now choosing to sway from a typical choice of fare.
Looking at what will be offered in the near future we have spoken with a few that will have some kicked up options and soon we will be enjoying our first Indian cuisine truck. But we ran across a truck this past weekend that at first glance appeared to be running the ordinary but upon closer inspection was nothing of the sort. Enter TX Delicioso a truck whose mainstay is pizza but offers much more. Continue reading

Rockstar Bakeshop Now Rolling in Dallas
It’s official, we have a new food truck in Dallas called Rockstar Bakeshop. If you frequent the new trucks rolling around the city you may already be familiar with their fare since Denver and Kristin Leonard have been baking their whoopee pies since September 2011 when they rented a commercial kitchen and began marketing their treats to area trucks as an add-on sale.
