Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam at the Fair
With the first full weekend of the Texas State Fair behind us today brings a bit of whimsy in the Creative Arts Building as we celebrate everything made with Spam. Considered by most one the more unusual and most exciting food events at the Fair outside the traditional pie contest.
We stopped by this morning to visit the Spammers as they rolled out a large variety of Spam dishes, including an Eggs Benedict, tacos and a whole host of pastries. Continue reading

New Foods at the State Fair
The doors are about to open at the State Fair of Texas and we will be in the Creative Arts Building hosting all the celebrity chefs that will demo every day during the Fair. We hope to bring you some great interviews of the chefs, and also interesting behind the scenes stories from the fairgrounds.
With all the fried goodies it will be difficult to stave off temptation, but we will have access to the employees commissary for our daily meals if we so choose. This should be fun because this is where most of the carnies dine.

Legendary illustrator-author-magician Jim Steranko returns to Big D for the first time since the 1995 Dallas Fantasy Fair, for the Oct 8-9, 2011 Fan Days/Dallas Comic-Con, accompanied by his partner in crime, Vanguard founder J. David Spurlock who, returns to his old hometown for his first Dallas convention in over a decade!

Hear The Music Play In Cowtown
Join some of the best names in national, regional and local music scene at the Fort Worth Music Fest Sept. 30 & Oct. 1. Held on the tree lined lawn of the Will Rogers Memorial Center, the Festival is a celebration of Fort Worth’s rich and diverse musical heritage.
2 days of non-stop music featuring 20 acts on 2 stages, cooking classes by area chefs, artworks for sale by area artists and groovy gear by local vendors make up the 2011 Fort Worth Music Festival.
Doors open at 4 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Komali Tequila Dinner
CraveDFW and Abraham Salum at Komali wish to bring you Casa Noble Tequila and an evening of fine dining. We will give away a two seats for this October 12th special dinner, but do not hesitate in making a reservation as the special event is filling fast.
