Dee Lincoln To Open Second Steak & Burger Bar In Plano

Dee Lincoln announces the second location of Dee Lincoln Steak & Burger Bar, slated to open mid-April in Plano, Texas.  Located at 4701 West Park Boulevard, Lincoln has appointed chef Andrew Powers as executive chef.  The menu is an approachable one with updated steakhouse fare and inventive burger recipes in a comfortable and relaxed setting. 

Powers has been with Lincoln since she opened the first location in Uptown Dallas, September 2013.  Lincoln says, “Chef Powers has that rustic sensibility while at the same time refined cooking that is perfect for this restaurant. He also understands the importance of providing only the best product possible and goes out of his way working with the farmers and purveyors on sourcing.”  Lincoln continues, “Plano has been my home since moving to Texas.  Our daughter has grown up in the neighborhood and several of my loyal fans live in the area. I’m excited to bring this neighborhood restaurant to our community.  The focus is great food, excellent service in a warm and comfortable atmosphere.”    Continue reading

Chipotle And the NTFB Team Up March 11

On Tuesday, March 11 from 10 a.m.-11 p.m., all 54-DFW area Chipotle restaurants will host a market-wide fundraiser to benefit the North Texas Food Bank. On that day, diners can mention “North Texas Food Bank” when they place their order and 50 percent of the proceeds up to $10,000 will go directly to the food bank.   Continue reading

Tequila Aged Beers Event At Goodfriend Feb 23

Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House partners with Lakewood Brewing Co. and Puro Verde Tequila for “¡Ay Dios Amigos!” to release very special beers aged in Puro Verde barrels on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Hosting an all-day event, goodfriend will be the only place to get this world premiere beer. Live music will begin at 3pm featuring Hazardous Dukes, Psycho Pony, and Hell Texas.

This event is a year in the making. Carlos Bell, the general manager at Goodfriend, asked Trey Baumgarner, the owner of Puro Verde Tequila, for four of their Añejo Tequila barrels for Lakewood Brewing Co.  Along with Bell, Matt Tobin, Josh Yingling from Goodfriend and Craig Reeves from Puro Verde Tequila delivered the barrels to Wim Bens from Lakewood Brewing Co. to begin the aging process.  Two barrels of Lakewood Lager (Vienna-style Lager) and 2 barrels of La Dame Du Lac (Bierre de Garde), part of the Lakewood Legendary Series were aged in the Tequila barrels for nine months. A couple of months ago, all parties involved came together for a taste test.   Continue reading

Symphony of Chefs Event Feb 24

The KidLinks Foundation is hosting its fourth annual “Symphony of Chefs” fine dining event on February 24, 2014 at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas. Each year the event has sold out, providing funding of therapeutic music programs for special needs children in North Texas. The KidLinks Foundation has raised more than $3.5 million at its two annual events since its inception in 2001.   Continue reading

Village Burger Bar Giving Back In A Huge Way

Mike and Susan Matta, owners of the family owned and operated restaurants, Village Burger Bar, will donate 100% of their profits (from the newest location on Inwood Road) to the North Texas Food Bank until March 31st.

Anastacia, also known as AQ, served as Executive Chef at Dallas restaurants Alma and Komali, but now works as a culinary instructor at Molina High School. This event marks her debut back into kitchen.

Tanoshii Ramen + Bar, which is known for their supple ramen and steamed buns, is now serving a selection of Japanese burgers on their lunch menu.  The hambāgā, a classic Japanese hamburger, is made with 100% ground beef and topped with sweet and spicy miso chili, fresh tomato, onions and lettuce.

The teriyaki chicken burger is prepared with a chicken thigh cutlet, marinated and glazed with ginger teriyaki and topped with Japanese mint and onion tartar sauce.  The vegetarian korokke burger is prepared with a mixed vegetable croquette coated with panko, fried to a golden crisp and topped with fresh wafu-slaw and homemade tonkatsu sauce.    Continue reading
