What’s not to like about flaming cheese? That is why we set out to find one of the city’s best versions of saganaki and headed far north to Plano Frisco for a visit to Platia Greek Kouzina.
Move over spanikopita. Yes we love your flaky layers of phyllo and spinach. Of course we adore the ktapadi, the grilled octopus charred in a red vinaigrette. But the saganaki is the blazing stuff we were craving as we passed through the doorway. Continue reading

We Crave Social 121
Expecting great things, I arrived to meet some friends at Social 121 with a growl in my stomach. Executive Chef Jason Skinner did not disappoint and I was immediately impressed by the cool, loft-like atmosphere. Social 121 is the kind of place with music that commands you to walk and tap your foot to its upbeat rhythm, yet soothes you with the blue water-themed ambiance. Sea Breeze Open For Biz After Remodel
One numerous occasions we have chimed the praises of the unique fish market in Plano, Sea Breeze. This is one location in the Dallas area we can score a really nice lobster roll and take home a few pounds of shrimp or fresh fish.
Today fishmonger Rick Oruch sends word that he is alive and well after a nifty remodel, and that he is also offering whole belly clams. He will make them several ways, in a roll or as a full-on fried clam plate with all the accoutrements. Continue reading
