Dean Fearing is kicking his menu in to Fall gear as he adds a handful of new items to the menu, including two vegetarian dishes that would please anyone. Check out the new menu items at Fearing’s located in the Ritz-Carlton in Uptown Dallas.
The vegetarian dishes include Pan-Fried Vegetable Ramen with Shiitake Mushroom Spring Roll and Cucumber/Thai Basil Relish and a Moroccan Style Vegetable Couscous with Red Pepper Harissa and Toasted Pistachios. Continue reading

The Moreno family, who owns several locations of La Popular Tamale House, have decided to open a Mexican restaurant in East Dallas in the growing artsy district at Peak and Elm. In fact, the new restaurant will be called Peak and Elm Cocina and Bar.
The new restaurant has been under construction with great attention for detail to the existing space. The restaurant sits on what was formerly the street car line, and just across the street once housed the street cars at the end of their run through East Dallas. For this reason Jesse Moreno says he plans on bringing one of the original cars to the back patio area for private dining. Continue reading

For our back-to-school series we created an assignment for some of our area chefs, bartenders and sommeliers: what I did on my summer vacation. As these reports are sent back to us we will share them with you. We noticed some are longer than others, and many will be loaded with photographs for extra points.
This summer I had the opportunity to take a culinary excursion to Vancouver in hopes of exploring a major culinary city (and also to see some beautiful Fairmont hotel properties). I stayed at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in the center of the vibrant downtown hipster scene. It’s an iconic hotel for the city, and much like The Fairmont Dallas, has some of the most beautiful historic ballrooms I have ever seen. Continue reading

Meddlesome Moth is a fantastic spot for a beer in the Design District; plenty of beers in fact. The Moth sports one of the most comprehensive set of taps in Dallas.
