The AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that  tickets for AMERICA 50th Anniversary Tour 2020 will go on sale Friday, March 6 at 10 a.m.  The year 2020 marks the 50th Anniversary of perennial classic-rock favorite, AMERICA. Touring the world and thrilling audiences with their timeless sound, AMERICA will perform for one night only at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Strauss Square in the downtown Dallas Arts District. Commissioner Miller Kicks Off Breakfast Week

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced the start of School Breakfast Week, which runs March 2 through 6, 2020, and reminds Texas students that a great day starts with a healthy breakfast. The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) administers the School Breakfast Program in Texas, collaborating with more than 8,000 schools to serve about 1.8 million morning meals every school day. During School Breakfast Week, eating a super breakfast has special significance as staff, students and faculty join in the celebration. This year, schools across the Lone Star State are using TDA resources with the theme Save the Day with a Healthy Breakfast. Continue reading

Asian Mint to Host Cooking Classes at Richardson Location

Asian Mint and award-winning Chef/Owner Nikky Phinyawatana will host a cooking class at the Asian Mint Richardson location on Saturday, March 14 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. 

The class will be a hands-on, interactive experience learning how to make Larb Mushroom and Chicken Basil. Larb Mushroom is a vegetarian take on a Lao meat salad and is regarded as the unofficial national dish of Laos. Chicken Basil is a classic Thai dish that is typically served with rice. JAXON Texas Kitchen & Beer Garden to Open March 2nd at AT&T Discovery District

JAXON Texas Kitchen & Beer Garden– the modern Texas inspired restaurant and beer garden will open to the public at AT&T Discovery District on March 2nd. Located at 311 S. Akard Street, will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

JAXON was created by Kevin Lillis, Adrian Verdin, chef David Gilbert, beverage director Alex Fletcher and their team at Hospitality Alliance, a nationally-acclaimed hospitality development and management firm headquartered in Dallas. The restaurant and bar will feature a large variety of Texas craft beers as well as a menu focusing on modern Texas dishes with influence from surrounding geographic neighbors including Mexico, Louisiana and New Mexico. The interior and expansive beer garden aim to offer a warm and inviting space for guests to enjoy elevated food and drink in a casual setting right in the heart of Downtown Dallas. Continue reading

Chino Shuttered, Enter “Sum Dang Good Chinese”

Upon first opening in 2014, Trinity Groves has been a culinary incubator for some of Dallas’s most exciting concepts. The original idea was for restaurants to take up temporary residence before moving on to other things. Chino Chinatown, which opened six years ago, has proven to be one of the incubator’s most successful concepts, but now it’s time to move on.
