 Bastille on Bishop Tickets on Sale Now

Go Oak Cliff is hosting the 13th annual Bastille on Bishop, a localized celebration of France’s Independence Day. The street festival will feature food trucks including Dallas Grilled Cheese, Bisous Bisous, and Great Galette; wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages; street performers including mimes and musicians. This year, the fête adds The Ben E. Keith Main Stage a lively feature which will centralize top entertainment including the fun gypsy French-inspired Le Pompe band and Oak Cliff’s own Spinster Records.

Celebrate Bastille With Us Today – Contest!

The French get a lot of razzing from Americans, but fact is if it weren’t for the French we might all still be speaking with a nasty English accent and have very bad teeth. The French were vital  for the Americans to win the Revolutionary War. But to be fair we did give them Jerry Lewis.

This weekend we will celebrate Bastille Day, the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison which was seen as a symbol of the uprising of the modern nation.

There will be several Bastille celebrations in Dallas  and we want to share ways you might want to party and enjoy the day.     Continue reading

Celebrate Bastille Day at Lavendou July 10-14

The 228th anniversary of the Bastille storming and launch of the French Revolution will be celebrated with another stellar Fete de la Bastille dinner, served Monday July 10 to Friday, July 14 at one of Dallas’ premier French restaurants, Lavendou.

The Lavendou Fête de la Bastille 2017 menu has fantastic choices among three courses, including:  Salade Frisée au Confit de Canard – curly salad with duck confit; Jarret d’Agneau aux Petits Legumes et Couscous – braised lamb shank with vegetables and couscous.  Dessert selections are Assiette de Fromage – assorted cheese plate; Mousse au Chocolat  chocolate mousse; and Feuillantine des Fruits Rouges  mixed berries in pastry.
