Hey Grandpa, What’s For Supper?
It was a pretty decent culinary weekend for me. Most every Saturday and Sunday I am working the Dallas by Chocolate tours where I am acting tour guide. This is a pretty good way to glide through four or five food destinations in just a few hours, grabbing samples and ideas along the way. For the most part this has been just chocolate and pastry destinations, but look for more savory destinations soon. I will be assembling some mystery tours and hitting some of my favorite hidden gems through out the city. How fun is that?

Farm to Table Brunch at Sundown to Benefit Promise of Peace
The Promise of Peace, (POP), Community Garden Farm to Table Brunch and Silent Auction will be held on March 4th at Sundown at Granada from 10:30am – 2:00pm. It will feature local Chefs Rolo Cantu, Marc Cassel, Billy Cooper, Suzanne Fries and Sundown at Granada’s Chef Patrick Stark. The chefs have designed a five-course menu that will feature local ingredients. Greenlings will be donating produce that follows the restaurant’s mission to serve locally grown ingredients in their unique menu. Continue reading

Meet Cable Smith of Mason Bar

Earlier this week we introduced you to chef David Anthony Temple (DAT) who will be opening up the Mason Bar at the end of January. Temple will not be cooking alone and has brought in an inspiring chef that has cooked with both Kent Rathbun and Richard Blais. His demeanor is cool handed, and his cooking is inspirational. Dallas is most fortunate to have Cable Smith who will open as chef de cuisine at Mason Bar.
