Tre Wilcox Offers A New Brunch
Brunch is the backbone of the Dallas dining society. We have literally done 100’s of brunch stories on craveDFW and featured Chef Tre Wilcox from the Village Marquee Texas Grill last year. The Top Chef continues to update and improve his menus and most recently revamped his brunch offerings by adding spicier selections to reflect this city’s adoration for Texas flare.
The most outrageously wonderful dish you will find on the menu is the hang-over cure, the Hung Pig sandwich. This pile of pork includes Tre’s own sausage, BBQ pulled pork, bacon and a fried egg. The sandwich is juicy and satisfying and fulfills any bacon contract you may have had for the day. Continue reading

Joy Grazes Through The New Brunch At Marquee
Sundays are awesome for several reasons: you can laze around, nurse the pain from the night before, and my personal favorite: Brunch! It had been awhile since I’ve stopped by Marquee Grill, a lady can only stay away for so long…. Continue reading

Happy Mom’s Day
It’s Mother’s Day Weekend and the staff at craveDFW asked that I give a shout out to their mothers. They know who they are and we love you. Now take good care of mom, and we will too. As for me, I am going to check out Del Frisco is Dallas for their very first Mother’s Day Brunch. David Holben will no doubt take great care of our city full of moms.
If that isn’t your style there are plenty of options. Just flip back through old craveDFW stories. We have written a bajillion brunch stories. This is my way of saying… it’s happy hour.
Stop in next week where we will have several contests, fun stories, interviews and a look at a very awesome Fort Worth restaurant that I will demand you try. Night ya’ll.

Each day we try new restaurants, visit some standards and seek out the unusual. There are few times when a restaurant will elicit a gasp of excitement with its fresh take and uncanny execution. Oak is such a restaurant. Now we have one more reason to enjoy Oak: Brunch.

ZaZa’s Dragonfly New Spring Menu, Plus Several Changes
A graduate of California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, chef Dan Landsberg first moved to Dallas in 1996 when we was sent to open Fog City Diner, the stand-out building where Truluck’s now operates from. From Fog City Landsberg had a stint at Toscana where he worked with several other local chefs including Gilbert Garza (now owner of Suze) and David Holben (now corporate executive chef with the Del Frisco brand).
Several moves later including a run as executive chef at Stephan Pyles and the man responsible for revamping Tillman’s Roadhouse, Landsberg is using his vast imagination at ZaZa’s Dragonfly. There Landsberg has a creative outlet that flourishes and changes with each season. Continue reading

First Look: Mad Tavern
Mad Tavern opened a few short weeks ago in the former Sam’s Burger House location at 18101 Preston Road, the same shopping center where Cadot and Chaat Café are located. The new gastro-pub is operated by Sanjeeva Balachandra and Chance Harper formerly of Sherlock’s.
The pub has hit and miss items on the menu such as Gougers which are fried Gruyere cheese puffs (miss) and fish and chips made with Murphy’s Stout (hit). The menu also sports a shepherd’s pie and scotch eggs which were admirable. Mad Tavern makes much of their fare in house including a quite tasty corned beef for their Reuben. The fries are hand cut and are some of the best around. Continue reading
