Win Dinner For Two At Ryan Barnett’s Latest Pop-Up

Chef Ryan Barnett hosts a Vegan Pop-Up dinner Friday, August 24 at My Private Chef in Deep Ellum.  The final dinner in a series of four, themed Sea, Air, Land and Earth, the 4 course menu will include Chilled Melon Soup, Texas Pea Cassoulet, Paquet of Courgettes (trio of squashes with handmade pasta) and Financier with summer fruits.  Guests are encouraged to BYOB (cork service provided).

Ingredients will be sourced both from Ryan’s personal garden as well as from local Texas farmers.        Continue reading →

Liberty Mutual is running a little charitable contest which will benefit the North Texas Food Bank in a huge way. This is one of those Facebook contests where you vote and up until today our local food bank was in first place. Brass Knuckle Corn Dog Beat Down At Libertine

There were many celebrations in the past few days as we observed Independence Day around the DFW area. One of our favorite traditions for the past few years has been the corn dog ballyhoo at the Libertine Bar on lowest Greenville Avenue in Dallas. The celebration has since been renamed the Brass Knuckle Corn Dog Beat Down and offers a trophy and $100 for anyone that can stuff the most corn dogs down their gullet in a short 15 minute time frame.              Continue reading →

Kaboom Town In Addison Contest — Updated Winners Announced

Kaboom Town is one of Addison’s premier parties that celebrates Independence Day on July 3rd each year. This one day leg up on the celebration gives families and extra day of hoopla and fireworks. Speaking of fireworks, the 30-minute musically choreographed show in Addison is one of the largest and most spectacular in the nation, and it is in the backyard of 170 restaurants. This makes the show the perfect place to roost and watch.
