Braindead Brewing is  hosting a special collaboration dinner Monday, August 17th featuring Braindead’s chef David Pena and Lucia exec sous Justin Holt. The chefs plan on six courses, each uniquely paired with superior brews all from a 200 mile radius of Dallas.

Large format offerings from Jester King Brewery and Prairie Artisanal Ales coupled with the premiere of two Braindead Brewing’s own Brettanomyces Fermentation will make this a special evening to remember.

Braindead is a community bar and brewery, that focuses on housemade beer and completely from scratch cooking in a relaxed Deep Ellum vibe. In craft brewing culture, Collaborations between breweries is commonplace.  Continue reading

Denton’s first Brewpub Restaurant, Barley & Board opens Wednesday, August 12. Featuring ‘New American Cuisine’ in harmony with dozens of beers on tap, this brewpub restaurant will highlight some of Texas’ finest breweries as well as in-house ales created by artisan brewers. Open for lunch and dinner, Barley & Board sits in the heart of the historic Downtown Denton Square and has captured some of the look and feel from the original Lacy Hotel by including elements of exposed brick, reclaimed wood, distressed leathers and industrial lighting.  Continue reading

Scenes From Industry Alley Opening Night

Industry Alley opened last evening to a rousing crowd that included the elite of the bartending community, plus plenty of civilian supports wishing to kick off the bar opened by Charlie Papaceno.

We were on the scene to check out the toddling time which included time at the pool tables, dart board and a smattering of retro video games that filled the large back room of Industry Alley. Consider this an adult playground with all the accouterments, including fine cocktails and brews. The new bar does not have a kitchen in house, so takeaway from neighboring restaurants is acceptable. In a show of support Zalat sent out a fleet of pizzas for the crowd to enjoy which was much appreciated.   Continue reading

Industry Alley Soft Opens This Sunday

If you have been anticipating the opening of Industry Alley, that wait is over. Last week owner Charlie Papaceno received his official certificate of occupancy from the City of Dallas, the last of the legal hoops one needs to jump through when opening a bar or restaurant. Papeceno told craveDFW that he will open his doors this Sunday through Wednesday from 4pm to 2am as a soft opening to put his fresh staff to the test.    Continue reading

Crossroads Diner Moving to Preston Trail Village Jan 2016

Crossroads Diner will open its new location at the intersection of Preston and Campbell Roads in Dallas.

The newly revitalized shopping center provides excellent exposure for Crossroads Diner, and serves an important demographic as diverse as its menu of refined American comfort food. Crossroads welcomes guests for both breakfast and lunch.

The successful diner will continue to serve the same great menu, with the excellent quality and service its loyal fan base has come to expect. The restaurant is slated to open in January 2016.

Free $5 Farmers Market Vouchers From Chipotle This Sat, Aug 8th

On Saturday Aug. 8, as part of National Farmers Market Week, Chipotle Mexican Grill is setting up shop in The Shed at the Dallas Farmers Market. This annual event gets the hungry crowds going.

From 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., Chipotle will offer a $5 farmers market voucher to each of the first 500 people to visit the Chipotle booth.  The vouchers can be redeemed for any farm fresh produce and artisan foods until the market closes at 5 p.m. that day.   Continue reading

Each week Velvet Taco announces what they call the WTF, or Weekly Taco Feature. Cute, eh? This week’s Weekly Taco Feature puts tofu in the spotlight with the spicy Kung Pao Tofu Taco. The Kung Pao is made with fried tofu, peanuts, green onions topped with Asian Bamboo Salad and wrapped in a crisp lettuce wrap.

TBD Opens in Dallas Uptown

TBD is a new nightlife concept opening August 11 in Uptown Dallas. Located at McKinney and Hall, TBD operates as a full-service restaurant and transitions into a high-energy lounge as the evening continues, making it a one-stop destination for people to enjoy good food, good drinks and lively dancing in a polished setting.

Inside, TBD’s white-on-white bar and brown leather banquettes keep things clean and modern. The rotating stock of local and national art adds pops of color and culture to the setting, while a DJ spins lively music to keep the energy high. Outside, the comfortable covered patio expands the space and anchors one of the hottest corners in the city.
