Instead, the Village cake is the more traditional and less garish Galette des Rois.    Continue reading →

eatzis-1383628451

Recently we heard from the CEO of  Eatzi’s Market & Bakery, Adam Romo who shared with us his favorite go-to items in his own store. He also shared with us the fact there will be a new Eatzi’s in the Preston-Royal Shopping Center at 6025 Royal Lane this October.

naf7by Nafeisa Shukair-Farley

Since I mastered the making of the Big Mac, the next logical assignment for this CraveDFW reporter is to learn how to make the Mudhen Meat and Greens signature cocktail, “Squeeze My Lemon.”  Why logical you ask?  Well, I don’t eat Big Macs (that is my son’s expertise) and I am not a drinker (all my friends love to partake of the spirits) so not only am I getting out of my comfort zone (I admit, am a bit nervous), I am learning the fine art of the shaking not stirring concept.  Note, I found out that bringing someone a bottle of beer does not count as making a cocktail.   Continue reading →

The Ultimate Valentine Pop-Up For One Stop Shop Gifts and Chocolate Feb 11

DSC06593by Steven Doyle

It’s that time of year ago when hearts think amore, and our tummies think chocolate. One of our favorite chocolatiers in Dallas is putting together a pretty special one-stop-shop pop-up venue. And they really all chocolatiers are our favorite because, you know, chocolate.

Look for Katy Priore, owner of Bark Chocolate, and a slew of her creative friends who will situate themselves at an open house deep in the heart of Lakewood. The group will be offering all sorts of gifts including confections, crafts, clothing, work from local artists and more. Ten percent of sales from all vendors will go to DFW RESCUE ME, a Dallas-based dog rescue group committed to giving pups “a new leash on life”.   Continue reading →
