We have been in search of the best pizza in Dallas but with a single hitch– not Neapolitan style. We have witnessed an onslaught of pizza being brought to the forefront and most of the new spots in Dallas are of the Neapolitan variety. There will be even more of this style of pizza coming, and that is fantastic. We love this, but what are some of the best non-Neapolitan pizzas in the Dallas area? Glad you asked.

The place with the funny name on McKinney Ave in Uptown Dallas has some pretty tasty food. We popped into So&So’s last night for a cold beer and found the pizza to be terrifically thin and crispy, just the way we prefer in case you are keeping tabs at home. Be we also tasted the deconstructed pastor, which is a fancy way of saying pork belly nachos. Continue reading

After a quick and unexpected closure of Primo’s in December, a pair of local restaurateurs snapped up the location and will soon open their new concept, So&So’s. Brandon Hays, part of the group that owns Standard Pour has partnered with Phil Schanbaum, formerly of Sfuzzi. No word on menu or drinks, except that he has hired the talented chef Ian Tate, formerly of Komali and Salum. Continue reading
