The Playwright Pub Opens Nov 14th

The Playwright, Dallas’ newest Irish pub opening Wednesday, November 14 for lunch, dinner and late-night every night, offers a tried and true experience at One Arts Plaza in the heart of Dallas’ Arts District.

Brought to us by the same owners as The Crafty Irishman, the new pub offers hundreds of whiskeys and scotches and 50 beers on tap, including a healthy Irish selection. As for the menu, customary Irish dishes, such as Fish and Chips, Scotch Eggs, Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers and Mash and Guinness Ice Cream are just a few of the made-in-house items. Continue reading

High Fives is Keeping the Dive Bar Alive

High Fives on Henderson is keeping the dive bar alive. It is a hub of nostalgia for lovers of 90s culture, which mixes in modern elements. High Fives’ menu offers aptly named 90s-themed beverages, craft tater tots, and stacked sandwiches.

Agu Ramen For Fresh Noodle Experience

Agu Ramen is serving up the most authentic ramen you might be able to find in the Dallas area, making their own noodles and boiling pork bones for 24-hours as part of their tonkotsu, but also has a vegetarian and five vegan options. We might add that Agu is extremely vegan friendly and after speaking with the owner who is originally from Okinawa now residing in Hawaii, Hisashi “Teddy” Uehara, he plans to open a vegan restaurant in Dallas after visiting most of the vegan hot-spots in the area recently. The Grape Is Still Amazing After All These Years

Their restaurant is 46-years old this month but have been owners since 2007. Velvet Taco Does Brunch

Hudson House Opens in Addison

Hunter Pond and Kyle Brooks, founders of the popular, East Hampton Sandwich Co, have partnered with M Crowd Restaurant Group (Mi Cocina, The Mercury) to open a second North Texas location of their East Coast inspired neighborhood restaurant Hudson House on Tuesday, September 25.

Located in Addison at 4933 Beltline Road in the former Taco Diner space Pond says, “the homey yet sophisticated restaurant is our take on the ‘swanky’ neighborhood joints of the West Village in New York City.” Continue reading
