Truluck’s is so committed to fresh Florida Stone Crab, that they work exclusively with their fisheries and dedicated crabbing professionals in South Florida. Each day, the boats go out into the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico, set their traps, and capture the crab. They then cook the crab claws, pack them in ice, and jet-fresh deliver them from Truluck’s traps to your table in hours. Truluck’s will NEVER serve frozen Florida Stone Crab claws.

Bread Winners Café & Bakery Passes to New Ownership

After nearly three decades, Bread Winners Café & Bakery Founders, Jim and Cindy Hughes, have sold the twenty-eight-year-old Bread Winners brand to Josh Bock of Stratega Capital but it’s a dream scenario for the couple, as Bock plans to keep the current management team in place – which includes two of Hughes four children and many long-time employees. Josh will take over not only the four Bread Winners Café & Bakery locations and Bread Winners Catering division, but Uptown’s popular Quarter Bar as well. Harlowe MXM and Henry’s Majestic are not a part of the merger and will remain with the Hughes family.

“Deciding to move on from this concept we’ve poured so much of our lives into was a bittersweet decision, but we felt the timing was right. We are looking forward to spending more time with our grandkids and family, but we will miss our Bread Winners family,” said Jim Hughes.

New Cocktail Lounge & Kitchen Opening at The Star – Snowbird

The Star in Frisco has been bustling with activities but this Fall, their latest concept brings to the area a highly anticipated upscale venue – Snowbird Cocktail Lounge & Kitchen.  Suburban residents will no longer have to drive far to enjoy a downtown night vibe.  

With over a decade in the nightlife industry owning and operating venues, David Nguyen and Snow Vo have partnered with Sobe Ahmed, a hotelier, to fill the nightlife void in Frisco. The 4,100 square foot space will include dining and lounge seating immersed in an intimate setting that’ll have you flowing from dinner to cocktails and into the late night as the music progresses with a mix of 80s, 90s and modern day pop beats.

John Wayne: An American Experience

At the same time, legendary Western-wear maker Stetson will be on-site with a Stetson X John Wayne hat personalization pop-up with Stetson Head Designer Claudia Medina. The collection features hats that are reminiscent of those worn by John Wayne in countless movies.

The day kicks off with a tasting of Gold Handle Coffee, a series of carefully curated blends named after a traditional gift presented by legendary actor John Wayne. During the making of his films, John Wayne gave each of his cast and crew members a personalized Gold Handle mug as a token of appreciation. The Duke’s generous and unique tradition was celebrated through these collectible mugs and his love of sharing coffee with friends. Gold Handle Coffee was born of that tradition.  The tasting will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
