Genaro’s Offers Excellent Mix Of Yucatan-Style Seafood

On our adventure to fined excellent seafood in Dallas during this time of Lent, we found a restaurant that is steeped up in seafood.  Although not a traditional seafood restaurant, Genaro’s opened for business in November of 2013 and serves up a healthy amount of seafood with traditional Yucatan and Tex Mex-style offerings. The restaurant is owned and operated by Chef Genaro Silva. You may know Silva from such restaurants as Genaro’s Tropical, Moctezuma’s, Garmo’s which he operated as far back as the 1980’s. They also had the bent towards fresh seafood.

The Greek In One Arts Plaza Shuttered

The Greek at One Arts Plaza hosted its final dinner service on the evening of March 14th. A restaurant concept sharing the same amazing flavors as Ziziki’s Restaurants, The Greek shared an adventuresome menu and edgier décor with patrons dining at One Arts Plaza.

“We are sorry to see The Greek go. What a wonderful restaurant and great team,” said Lucy Burns, Partner, Billingsley Company. “We are however, looking forward to announcing a few new exciting concepts. Club Schmitz WILL Be Closing May 31 *Updated

For the past month we have been fielding rumors that Club Schmitz would be closing this summer. In a panic we sent ace photographer Robert Bostick out for a photo shoot a few weeks ago. We both have been getting mixed stories, so we chose not to run with anything at that time. Today, Robert Wilonsky at the Dallas Morning News came up with his version of the story that points to a large possibility that Schmitz has seen its final year.     Continue reading

Mudbug Bash March 29 At Main Street Garden

105.3 The FAN, 100.3 Jack FM & Downtown Dallas, Inc. are bringing the bayou back to Big D with the return of Mudbug Bash at Main Street Garden in downtown Dallas Saturday, March 29 from Noon to 8 p.m.

The family-friendly festival is a creole-flavored celebration of spring.
