Joel Harloff Resigns From Second Floor
Chef Joel Harloff has resigned from the Second Floor at the Westin Galleria leaving a position available. Owner Scott Gottlich sends word, “Chef Joel A. Harloff will be leaving The Second Floor Bistro – Bar this month, and I wish him well with his future endeavors. I am excited about the opportunity to announce a new executive chef soon.”

Lakewood Brewing Company Bottled Beer Guide
2012 was a fantastic year for the Dallas craft brew scene. So many up and coming brewers took to the streets replacing taps across North Texas and beyond. Now I know the electric thrill that must have been buzzing during the great space race to see which country might land on the moon. In the beer world we all end up being winners.

Samson’s Encased Meats To Open On Oaklawn
There is a new dog coming to town and it has been in the making for over three years. Originally Samson’s Encased Meats was slated to open in the West Village, but the owners tell me that the deal fell through and to look for a location on Oak Lawn between Fairmount and Lemmon to open in March 2013. Dukes In Addison Is Closed
Duke’s Original Roadhouse closed its doors in Addison today. Duke’s is known for their outrageous stunts such as “midget wrestling” and their annual turkey bowling, along with other antics to fill its halls. Maharaja’s Feast At Samar Jan 23
Stephan Pyle’s Samar is one of my very favorite restaurants. It reflects on how I dine, or like to dine. I do not normally sit down in front of a giant haunch of beef, in fact the last steakhouse I went to I appreciated the fish of the day.
