You must give the folks at Hypnotic some props. They know how to promote their product well and they make a mean donut. Today we are sent word that they are hosting a donut eating contest, but with a kick.
To win this contest you need to eat the most donuts in 10 minutes, but there is a catch. As each donut is presented to the contestant it gets spicier and spicier – to the point of extreme. Del Frisco is definitely a Dallas institution and they have been on our radar since the playful sommelier Jennifer Jaco started working there just over one month ago. But before Jaco’s arrival we alwayed enjoyed chatting with chef David Holben who’s home kitchen is the Dallas location on Spring Valley.
Holben has come up with a summer promotion that should bring most beef lovers into the restaurant and it is a steal. They call this the Power Couple menu and there are more than a few great choices in sides and such, but always includes a filet and crab cake. For $99. Continue reading

Let me start by saying I really like Kenny Bowers. First, the guy can cook. That’s a fairly important point when you are a chef. Second, the guy is outrageous. Great combination. Kenny doesn’t take himself too seriously and has a lot of fun with his burger joint up in Frisco.
It’s pretty nifty that you can buy a single rib for one dollar, which comes from a Chris Rock line in the film I’m Gonna Git You Sucka. This is also the spot where you can buy a 7 pounder that is a burger loaded with 7,000 calories, and can actually feed 20 people — or one really hungry hombre.
