There is little to make a sandwich wonderful other than  fantastic bread, well thought out seasonings and spreads, and a filling that should be unsurpassed. When deciding a list of our favorites, it seemed a more daunting task than originally thought. So much more came to mind as the list was settled.

Tarrant Area Food Bank’s Mega Mobile Markets Continue into November

In order to meet the increased food demand that many communities are facing, TAFB will continue to hold multiple Mega Mobile Markets per week. This week, the markets will be held Wednesday through Saturday in various locations across the Tarrant area.

This has been made possible thanks to the Texas Department of Emergency Management, who graciously deployed members of the Army National Guard to TAFB in order to increase the productivity of the Mega Mobile Markets. Each family will receive approximately 100 pounds of high-quality produce, meat, dairy and groceries.

Lockhart Smoke House Offering Thanksgiving Dinner Take-Out

Enjoy Lockhart Smokehouse is smokin’ this holiday season with family-style portions for Thanksgiving.  From the smokehouse enjoy fully smoked turkeys and hams, prime rib, or whole briskets served along side green bean casseroles, cheesy potato casserole, smoked cream corn, mac n’ cheese and peach cobbler for dessert ($35-$220).

Meals will be served cold and vacuum sealed with instructions for reheating. Side dished will be in aluminum half pans.
Deadline to order from the online order form is Monday November 23rd at 5pm and pick up cutoff  is Wednesday, November 25 at 4:30pm. Wine and beer is also available.

This announcement is culminating with the highly charged buzz around town that “Father of Southwestern Cuisine” Dean Fearing collaborated with Chowdhury on the development and design of the hotel’s signature Sky Creek Kitchen + Bar. This includes Fearing’s signature influences on restaurant menus, brunches, weddings and special events.

Chicken Fried Steak Day at Norma’s Goes Virtual

While we’re still feeling the effects of the pandemic, there is never a shortage of chicken fried steak in Texas. Times may be tough, but we still find comfort in this comfort food.

A chicken fried steak is a cut of tenderized that is battered and fried, crafted in a way to appear similar to a piece of fried chicken. It is a southern staple with a rich history in Texas. October 26th is Texas Chicken Fried Steak Day, and this year marks the sixth anniversary of the event.

In 2004 Yarbrough opened his then public relations firm, BigInk, using his knowledge of the hospitality industry to assist other restaurants and venues. His firm details all aspects of the industry from training, public relations to real estate.

In 2016, the Texas Restaurant Association inducted Jeffrey into the Hall of Honor. A long standing Texas Restaurant Association tradition, outstanding individuals are inducted to the Hall of Honor each year to recognize their significant contribution to the Texas restaurant industry and to the association.
