Review: Smithy on Henderson Avenue

Knox-Henderson serves as a hub for some of Dallas’s most interesting bars, dives, and restaurant concepts. At Smithy, KH’s most recent addition, guest’s can enjoy a variety of globally inspired plates and cocktails, on all of which Smithy puts a delightful southern spin.

The name Smithy is derived from the word “blacksmith,” as a nod to the previous occupant of the unit, Henry Potter, who was known for his contributions to projects for SMU, Dallas Public Schools, and homes in Highland Park. Continue reading →

The Kaboom Town fireworks is considered in the top ten of Independence Day displays in the nation with over 1,500 pounds of fireworks, a celebrated airshow with warplanes and air acrobatics, food, carnival fun and so much more. On Tuesday, June 26, 82 Twin Peaks Girls from across the country will walk the runway at The Bomb Factory in Dallas to compete for the title of Miss Twin Peaks 2018.

Shell Shack Open for Business on Henderson

Dallas Hale was in rare form last night as he hosted a variety of guests to the pre-opening of his newest Shell Shack restaurant located on Henderson Avenue in Dallas which replaces the now shuttered McKinney Avenue location.

Guests were treated to a sampling of the menu which has not changed from its previous location, but the size of the building is noticeably large. It occupies the building which was the Mellow Mushroom which lasted in the location for a mere few months.  Continue reading →
