Well, you went and did it. You did the beer before liquor and now have never been sicker. Or perhaps too many sulfites from that red wine you blasted through last night. Or you simply just drank too much and now are suffering an epic hangover. We get it. No, we really get it and have a cure for that. We have a few hangover relief tricks, plus a list of some really good local foods that will help ease the pain of the season.

Best Burgers of 2018 v.1

Today is National Cheeseburger Day and we have been planning for this day since January dining on over 125 burgers in anticipation of today’s list. So many burgers were consumed that we decided to break the list apart in two categories. This list will have burger restaurants, and a second list will involved restaurants that have burgers but not as their main offering.

This said, let us begin in no particular order, except for the first burger which we consider our favorite in the Dallas area.

Best Corned Beef in Dallas

Corned beef is made from brisket, a relatively inexpensive cut of beef. The meat goes through a long curing process using large grains of rock salt, or “corns” of salt, and a brine. It’s then slowly cooked, turning a tough cut of beef into one that’s super tender and flavorful.

Ireland was a major producer of salted meat, going back all the way to the Middle Ages and lasting through the 19th century. It wasn’t always called corned beef, though. That didn’t come until the 17th century when the English coined the term. Continue reading
